‘Paraguay’ Clock

Kroeger Clock no. 1303, ca. 1895 (MC0004)

The Paraguay Clock’s origins lie in two clocks. The dial of the Paraguay Clock was originally attached to the movement of the ‘Rosenthal Clock’, MC0008. After Arthur Kroeger purchased the clock in 2000, he separated the dial from its movement. He took the dial, which had been painted by art teacher Irene Franz in Paraguay, and attached it to a movement from another clock, with the serial number 1303 around the year 2012. The provenance of this movement is unknown. This clock is now known as the ‘Paraguay Clock.’ Arthur took the movement of the original clock and created a new dial for it. This clock is now known as the ‘Rosenthal Clock’ (see the ‘Rosenthal Clock’, MC0008 for more information).
